This is Life in The Metaverse 🥽🥽🥽

My two youthful daughters are both crying as I tell my hubby that he’s on his own because I ’m going to the metaverse. Shutting myself in my home office at 7p.m. on a Friday, I put on Meta’s$ 399 virtual- reality headset the Quest 2, a big, white bill loaded with all manner of cameras, microphones, speakers, eye displays and detectors.

When I power it up, the cries of “ I want Mama to do bedtime ” fade down, replaced by the sounds of a gentle breath and catcalls chittering. I'm transported to a mountainside manor. I turn my head to aspect
at a distant swash and a golden sky dotted with hot- air balloons. This stirring spot( which I can change, like desktop wallpaper) is a glorified lobby, where I choose an app to load.
I could meditate, cardio box or kill zombies, but I'm then for Horizon Worlds, Meta’sV.R.- grounded social network, where at least,000 people hang out as cartoon performances of themselves, erecting virtual palaces, clubs, auditoriums and theaters — known as worlds.

I choose a worlds with a 4- stories comedy club under a starry blue sky. When I enter, a man in a argentine hoodie comes up to me. “ Hello, ” I say. He gapes at me in reply, so I float down.
Another icon approaches me. He has a beard and a man bun, and wears a collared shirt unbolted to reveal a generous portion of his digital casket.
“ Can you speak French? ”

“ I don't speak French, ” I say. He shrugs and floats down.
A baseball- limited icon takes the stage and picks up the mic. “ Want to hear a story about my academy? ” He asks in a immature voice that suggests a tale of 6- grade strait's. “ I don't want to hear this, ” says someone who sounds as though he’s standing to my left wing, though I ’m alone in my office.

Horizon is “ Meta’s macrocosm in the metaverse, ” said Vishal Shah, the superintendent in charge of “ the spatialco-present interpretation of the internet ” that the company formerly known as Facebook has staked its future on. Meta has an emotional track record, unnaturally changing the way its nearly three billion druggies fraternize, partake information and waste time.
Meta is estimated to have vended nearly 15 million metaverse- enabled headsets, and yet people remain skeptical of an immersive internet. Since Mark Zuckerberg, the principal superintendent, blazoned last time that he planned to spend billions of bones
bringing the metaverse to the millions, the company’s stock price has declined.
