Poet Jasimuddin went to a dawa with Dhaka University teacher Shafiullah Sahib. He fell in love with a ninth grade girl at first sight there.
The poet's age suddenly dropped by twenty years. Anchan started in the heart. At this stage, he tried to attract the attention of the girl named Mumtaz Begum in various ways. Mumtaz's birthplace was Faridpur, but then she studied in Dhaka, from Nanabari.
When Jasimuddin is crazy in love with Mumtaz, does the teenage girl understand it? The poet tried to subjugate Mumtaz's uncle Maulvi Idris Mia in various ways. He started traveling to that house on various pretexts. Moulvi Sahib was a poetry lover. So he took Kabir's approach to his house as a matter of course. In this way Jasimuddin reached Mumtaz's house for a day or two and surprised her by taking a notebook from the table and wrote:
Forgive me
Beautiful Anupama
In your quiet recesses
Maybe in your game
Accused of crime
Forgive me.'
Mumtaz now understood Kabir's desire. Unknowingly fell in love with him. In this regard, Begum Mumtaz wrote in her memoirs, "After seeing me, the gentleman went to Laiga to shake hands with my nephew." He started recommending it to many people. He who saw me, my form took hold in his mind. Poet!
Not long after, Jasimuddin sent a marriage proposal to Nana Maulvi Idris. After that, when Maulvi Sahib realized that his granddaughter also agreed to this marriage, there was no reason for him not to agree, Mia-Bibi Raji To Kia Karega Kazi.
But Momtaz's father Mohsenuddin was left out. He would never give his daughter in marriage to this vagabond poet. He is older than him, and his face is black. In this situation, he wrote a long letter to Maulvi Idris, 'Have you gone mad! This guy (Jasimuddin) is crazy. Wanders around. He sings. Emotional songs, spiritual songs, Murshidi songs. He rolls on the ground crying all night in the song majlis. Will you marry a boy like this? Instead of that, Natin was thrown into Padma.
After receiving the letter, Mr. Idris was in a dilemma. He himself also liked the poet very much. Apart from that, Patra was also a lecturer at Dhaka University.
Then Mr. Idris went out to inquire about the vessel. But he was 'caught' in front of Kabir's mess in Newmarket area, Jaseem entertained him by taking him home. Later he said, 'I will have to negotiate whether I will marry my grandson or not. Otherwise, I will not leave you.' Maulvi Idris was released after being detained for one night in return for the promise of marrying his granddaughter.
After being released, Idris Saheb started arranging the marriage. In 1939, the wedding of Jasimuddin and Begum Mumtaz was held in a grand ceremony. All the great writers including Rabindranath sent congratulatory messages on that marriage.
